Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

Hello! This is the small little world I've been living in.

In the whole infinite universe, there's only one ME.

Hi! I'm Strawberry!
I'm always sweet but sometimes sour.

I have a husband, Honeydew. We live with my mum, Banana and my dad Papaya Cheers! We are the awesomest food ever.
LOL Ignore that. This is me. But keep in mind. If you don't like me, or hate the way I post things. I'd appreciate you to get out of my blog. I live in my own little world at times. I love animals, flowers, pretty clothes, heels, my family and friends, my food and everything that makes the world beautiful. I love all consumable foods especially my chocolates. I am not crazy. I am simply different. I'm also utterly obsessed with mermaids and I dream of becoming one someday. I HATE copycats and spammers. So, if you're one of them, it's a sign that you should stay away. This is where I express most of me, so either you accept it or you don't. ♥ 06.09.1994 ♥

It is not the length of life, but the depth of it.

Legend of the Ancient Sword

After a long week I've finally decided to binge watch an entire drama consisting of 52 episodes in merely 4 days. What am I even doing with my life. I'm entirely like a zombie now but still blogging. A zombie who blogs. *laughs* Well, this series is not bad. I would not strongly recommend it personally as I find it lacking in many ways compared to the other costume, wuxia and fantasy series but it is refreshing as this one develops in another way. There are as many as 5 to 6 significant characters and each of them were almost equally given enough time to portray their significance in the series. Additionally, this series does not only emphasize on romance, but more on the unfolding of the events and scenes leading to the final battle. The few important cast in this series:

The main character, Baili Tusu/ Han Yun Xi. Honestly, I don't feel much when I first started watching this series. I almost didn't care about his character's development because I felt no connection with this character in the beginning. None at all. And he was paired with Qing Xue, in this series though they did not give off the sufficient amount of chemistry at first, it was at the end when I started to get emotionally invested in these two.

There, the female lead of this series. She plays a descendant of the Nuwa goddess, and pretty much follows Tusu around for the rest of the series until his very last moments. *spoiler alert* Yes, he died in the end. I actually wouldn't care in the first 30 episodes because I did not feel any connection between him and Qing Xue but at the last few, I started wanting to see their characters develop more. But of course, it had to end in another way. Tusu died and Qing Xue ended up wandering every corner of the earth searching for him, which in the end turned fruitless as well. Most would not like the ending, seeing them parting but I guess that's how life really is. Nothing goes according to your wish all the time. You have to lose before you can learn how to appreciate. But I really hope they end up reuniting, even in another world. Overall, I wasn't really invested in her or Tusu's character. Just their relationship towards the end.

Well, the main reason I watched this series is of course, because of Zhang Meng again. She plays Fang Ruqin, a kind hearted and noble lady of River Qin. I really really do like her character in this series. Though I really feel bad for her that her love for Shaogong ended up costing her her own life. I wish she could've had a better ending. I don't know why but I kind of hoped that she would be paired with Ling Yue. They would've been perfect for each other!

Moving on. There, this idiotic guy who tried to kill everyone he knew just to revive his old lover, Xun Fang. But it was almost predictable that he was the mastermind behind everything as he appeared at Wu Meng Ling Gu in the beginning. Just didn't expect him to be that crazed up with his obsession for the elixir to revive Peng Lai. But overall his acting skills were quite remarkable as the story unfolds. From a completely kind hearted and considerate man to an obsessed lunatic, you can really see the way he develops his character.

But what caught me by surprise is that Gillian Chung plays Xun Fang, the warm and polite princess of Peng Lai. Yeah, the lover Shaogong tried to bring back for years when she's disguised as Tong Yi by his side all the while.

The two other character in this series, Xiang Ling and Lan Sheng. Both are innocent and playful but nearing the end, Lan Sheng matured into a man after his sister, Ruqin's death and decided to man up to his responsibilities. They pretty much stuck around one another throughout the series and were both as mischievous as one another but still did not end up together. But surprisingly I was actually quite happy that they did not end up together. Not because their relationship weren't appealing but because Xiang Ling's character was annoying to me. On the other hand, I actually liked the fact that he ended up with Yue Yan although she appeared little throughout the series.

The only redeeming relationship in the ending of the series. I actually ship him and Yue Yan although the series showcased little of their relationship but when Lan Sheng had flashbacks of his past, his story with Yue Yan were more touching and appealing.

BONUS! The character I really liked in this series. I actually liked Ling Yue more than Tusu. In the sense that he was more mature and attractive compared to Tusu. His character is the one that no one could possibly hate. He's warm, generous and intelligent. How could anyone not like him?

Lastly, Di Le Re Ba as Fuqu, Ling Yue's same sect junior. Her role is minor though she looks exotic to me. In a good way. She has a crush on Ling Yue ever since she was small but they did not end up together in the end because Ling Yue became the leader of Tian Yong City. Their relationship wasn't showcased much but I felt really bad for her, holding hopes towards Ling Yue although she knows it will not happen. But still, I feel nothing for them. No connection at all. I would ship Ling Yue and Ruqin more. What do you think?

That's about it. The other characters I won't mention as they appeal little to me. Overall it was an interesting series with nice plots but it comes off a little draggy at times. And wordy. So watch it if you need to pass time. Keep in mind you will hate the ending pretty much like the rest of the viewers. So, until next time.
